Point Imperial Sunrise

Posted by
CW McGowen (Morgan Hill, United States) on 17 November 2011 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

Point Imperial was the second stop on the monsoon season trip with Mike and Scott and our first sunrise.

We arrived at Point Imperial in plenty of time to setup and watch the transformation in the sky. There was a fair amount of overcast and some haze in the canyon. We were hoping the clouds would provide some early morning color and were not dissapointed. As the sky gradually lightened, the land below was bathed in the warm colors enhancing the reds and revealing the details of the canyon.

This is incredible. The fiery light in the sky mirrored in the rocks makes for a very compelling image.
