Upper Falls Moonbow

Posted by
CW McGowen (Morgan Hill, United States) on 15 June 2017 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

Snowfalls this winter resulted in a huge runoff of water from the mountains and Yosemite Falls is raging and kicking up a mist of grand proportions.

The moonbow is a fickle creature which is rare and tough to capture. The night before this shot, for instance, we had a clear sky and conditions were perfect for a wonderful moonbow. Yet it was not to be, one cloud closed in and covered the moon for the entire time it was in the correct position to create a moonbow.

Fortunately the following night the conditions were also great and the moonbow is representatively terrific.
